Creation of the mascot Aramat for the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM 2018). The project involved the character’s technical drawing and over 15 different pose illustrations to be integrated with the official logo and all visual material related to the congress. The character creation was based on a nationwide school drawing contest with the aim to integrate math thinking, children’s education and overall public.
From the art concept of the character, the project unfolded to a diverse use within the campaign, such as pins, keychains, posters, social network campaign, cellphone covers and short animated series. The project expanded for the creation of Aramat’s costume schematics and technical plans for Aramat’s teddy bear production. This phase took 6-7 months from first drafts to final costume and figure testing before official release at the Mathematicians Olympics presentation. The congress has international presence and is considered the most important in the subject. This is the first time a mascot has been created for the International Congress of Mathematicians.
